Rowan’s Law Day – Wear Purple / Civvies Day – Friday October 2, 2020

On Friday, October 2, 2020 San Marco Catholic School will be marking Rowan’s Law Day to raise awareness about concussions.

In May 2013, 17-year-old Rowan Stringer died as a result of head injuries sustained in a game of rugby. In March 2018, the Ontario government passed Rowan’s Law, designed to protect athletes and to educate about the dangers of head injuries.

TERRY FOX WALK And RED & WHITE DAY

Our students will be walking with their class cohort on Wednesday Sept 23 to celebrate Terry’s Marathon of Hope!  It will also be RED and WHITE day for our students and staff. Let’s keep Terry’s dream alive LIONS! (Rain date Thurs. Sept 24)

ORANGE Shirt Day at San Marco! – September 30, 2020

On September 30, 2020 we celebrate Orange Shirt Day. On this day we recognize Canada’s Indigenous people, children and families impacted by Canada’s Indian Residential Schools.  As Catholics we focus on reconciliation.  This day marks our commitment in acknowledging that these wrongs should never happen again to anyone and that every child matters.
