On Friday, October 2, 2020 San Marco Catholic School will be marking Rowan’s Law Day to raise awareness about concussions.
In May 2013, 17-year-old Rowan Stringer died as a result of head injuries sustained in a game of rugby. In March 2018, the Ontario government passed Rowan’s Law, designed to protect athletes and to educate about the dangers of head injuries.
Together on Friday October 2, 2020 we invite our school community to wear purple , Rowan’s favourite colour in support of the importance of speaking up about an injury to the head or body.
