Anaphylaxis and School Safety

Anaphylaxis and Safety

We will continue to take a proactive approach to make our school a safe environment for our students with life-threatening allergies.  Staff continue to train regarding administration of the Epi-Pen and in recognizing reactions/symptoms.

Because anaphylaxis can be life-threatening, our entire school is allergy aware. Students will not be permitted to share or distribute snacks.  In accordance with our School Allergy Awareness Plan, please do not send any snacks to be shared for celebrations, special days (e.g. Valentine’s, Christmas, etc. ) including birthdays.

Please help us to keep San Marco Allergy Aware and Nut-Safe by providing snacks and lunches for your child that do not contain any traces of nuts or nut products and that are made in a nut free facility.  In addition, the class may have additional allergies.  If this is the case, your child’s teacher will have sent a note home indicating foods that cannot be brought to school in that particular classroom.

Thank you for your continued cooperation in this matter.
