Re: Allergy Awareness: SAN MARCO CES IS AN ALLERGY AWARE SCHOOL and a FRAGRANCE/SCENT SAFE SCHOOL
Your cooperation and support is needed to ensure the safety of students in our school who have a life-threatening allergy.
Students may be allergic to peanuts, peanut butter, peanut oil, nuts and/or all nut by products. If a food with any nuts or nut-products is ingested or comes in contact with these children, the allergic reaction could be fatal within minutes. An allergic reaction could occur by touching a surface that has come in contact with a peanut/nut product.
Besides peanuts or other nut products, there may also be children in class with other allergies that could threaten a child’s safety (e.g. dairy, fish, egg, sesame, etc.) If this is the case for your child’s classroom, your child’s classroom teacher will communicate these allergies to you.
We are requesting that lunches and snacks not contain nuts and/or nut products or foods that are made in a facility that is not nut safe. Also, please do not send food products to school to be shared or distributed among classmates.
Our school has developed an Allergy Awareness Plan. With your support and cooperation, we hope to avoid any life-threatening emergency situations and to continue ensuring the health and safety of everyone at San Marco CES. Thank you San Marco.
