The children’s safety is a concern to all of us. The expectation is that drivers will respond to traffic signs and they will be cautious when approaching the school area.
RE: Drop Off Loop information
Just a friendly reminder, should you decide to use the loop in front of the school, it is understood that you cannot park your car or leave it unattended at any time. You cannot walk your child to the school yard if you are using this loop. Students who use this loop will then make their way to the back of the school using only the sidewalk/walking path on either end of the loop. They are not allowed to go through the school and must never go through the parking lots.
Drivers are reminded to be vigilant and be cautious of students who are crossing the sidewalk on either side of the loop and to obey the stop sign which is located at the end of the loop.
Please do not pass vehicles that are unloading students as this may pose a safety concern for those involved. Treat it like a “drive thru”. Please move your vehicle as close as you can to the stop sign, rather than stopping in front of the doors when unloading your child even if there are no cars in front of you. This will prevent the backlog of vehicles that spill onto the street waiting to come in.
Should you decide to continue dropping your child off on the street in a safe location, we ask that students do not cut through the parking lot as this is unsafe to use at any time. Rather, they must use sidewalks / walking paths to make their way to the back of the school
We are also asking parents to ensure that students are dropped off prior to 8:50 a.m. so that students do not miss important instructional time and are not marked as being late.
Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time and assistance in creating an even safer school.
